SPOKANE, Wa- Spokane kids interested in soccer have a new opportunity to practice their skills this spring. Starting this week, the 90+ Project and Spokane Public Schools are offering free, one-day clinics at elementary schools throughout the district.
These clinics, held directly after school on campus, are designed to engage students with the sport of soccer while also introducing them to mental wellness practices that can support their academic and personal growth.
Russell Davis, Executive Director of the 90 Plus Project, emphasized that making soccer accessible to all students is one of the project’s primary goals. “Lowering those barriers gives us the opportunity to interact with kids creatively and provide a great environment that’s fun, energetic, and allows us to really invest in kids deeply,” Davis said.
At the free clinics, students will have the chance to develop their soccer skills, participate in exercises, and play in a scrimmage, all while enjoying the positive, supportive atmosphere the program fosters.
The clinics will run Monday through Thursday, through May, at various elementary schools across Spokane. The after-school clinics are for 1st through 5th graders.
