SPOKANE, Wash. — On Monday night, Spokane City Council voted to push the city one step closer to having its second Chick-fil-A location.
The ordinance passed 5-1, with Councilmember Klitzke absent.
The approved plan will build the restaurant on Ruby Street, between Mission and Sinto Avenue. The development will include two drive-thru lanes, 26 parking spots and entrances from both Mission and Sinto.
Multiple nearby houses will be demolished and the Mission-Sinto alleyway vacated for the construction.
The project has prompted mixed reactions from both concerned residents whose housing will be affected and locals excited for another Chick-fil-A location.
One resident said his tenants were considering moving if the plan was approved because they use the alleyway frequently. He told 4 News Now he is prepared to sue.
