SPOKANE, Wash. — Grab a hammer and lend a hand at Habitat for Humanity’s 24th annual Blitz Build this summer.
On June 3, Habitat for Humanity will kick off it’s two-week building project, bringing together hundreds of volunteers, supporters and local organizations to help combat Spokane County’s housing crisis.
Each day during the build, up to 60 volunteers, including future Habitat homeowners, will work together to build homes in the community.
“Blitz Build is one of the most inspiring times of the year, ” said Michelle Girardot, CEO of Habitat for Humanity. “Nearly one in three households in Spokane are considered cost-burdened, spending more than 30% of their income on housing. Habitat provides a path to stability through affordable homeownership, and Blitz Build brings that hope to life in real time.”
The kickoff event will take place on June 3 at 8:30 a.m. at 212 N Collins Ln in Spokane Valley.
Volunteer registration is $50 per person, which helps cover the cost of materials and includes a Blitz Build t-shirt and lunch.
