SPOKANE, Wash. — The charges against former city councilman Ben Stuckart related to a protest that happened outside the ICE building last week have been dismissed without prejudice.
The Spokane County District Court dismissed Stuckart’s case on Tuesday.
Stuckart led a protest on Wednesday, June 11 as immigration agents were working to transport multiple immigrants to a detention facility in Tacoma, including two Venezuelan men seeking asylum.
More than 30 people, including Stuckart, were arrested by Spokane Police at that protest after Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown declared a state of emergency due to escalations between protesters and ICE agents.
A second protest group at Riverfront Park later marched and joined the demonstration at the ICE facility.
While the protest was underway, ICE was seen escorting detainees into a van.
