SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation is warning people of a new round of scam texts.
The messages have been impersonating WSDOT and other state agencies.
WSDOT said it will not text or call anyone requesting payment for anything. Do not click on unknown links in emails or texts.
If you receive a scam text, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission or the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.
Make sure to include the phone number or email address in your complaint as well as the website listed in the message.
