SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — An electrical fire destroyed a detached garage in Spokane Valley on Friday morning.
According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, crews responded to the fire on North Locust Road just after 9 a.m. Witnesses said there were possibly two large propane tanks on fire in the garage.
Firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other buildings. The fire was able to get under control within 17 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
Fire investigators say the fire was most likely caused by an electrical issue.
SVFD wants to remind everyone that portable heating devices should be plugged directly into an outlet and avoid using power strips or extension cords.
