PORTLAND, Ore. — Gonzaga came up just short in its regular-season finale, falling to Portland 92-91 in overtime.
The Bulldogs and Pilots traded momentum throughout regulation in a tightly contested match up that featured multiple lead changes. Gonzaga had opportunities late in both the fourth quarter and overtime but was unable to secure a final defensive stop in the closing seconds.
The Bulldogs offense produced efficiently, answered several Portland runs, forcing overtime after a back-and-forth finish in regulation.
With the loss, Gonzaga concludes the regular season at 22-9 overall and 14-4 in West Coast Conference play.
