SPOKANE, Wash. — Two people were arrested at the No Kings protest in Spokane on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Spokane Police Department, officers were working the protest near West Cataldo Avenue around 2:45 p.m. when someone flagged them down.
The person said 18-year-old Lilian Cantu had stolen his flag as he was holding it.
When SPD tried to detain Cantu, 32-year-old Christopher Hutto assaulted one of the officers.
Cantu and Hutto were both arrested and taken into custody.
Cantu was booked into Spokane County Jail for theft. Hutto was booked into Spokane County Jail for assault.
SPD said during a search, officers found large rocks, pepper spray, disposable face masks and spray paint in their possession.
Protesters and counter protesters were allowed to peacefully resume their activities once Cantu and Hutto were taken into custody.
