COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The city of Coeur d’Alene planted seedlings on Tubbs Hill this week as part of an ongoing fuel mitigation project.
According to the city, all seedlings planted are native to Tubbs Hill and include larch, white pine and Ponderosa pine.
Contractors planted 500 seedlings to help with fuel mitigation. The fuel mitigation project has been ongoing since last fall, with phase two set to begin this summer.
The city asks visitors to Tubbs Hill not to remove flags or pull up tubing near the seedlings while in the area.
