COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The woman dragged from a town hall in Coeur d’Alene last year is suing the men involved including Sheriff Bob Norris and Kootenai County Republican Central Committee chair Brent Regan.
Teresa Borrenpohl of Post Falls attended the KCRCC event at Coeur d’Alene High School in February 2025. Borrenpohl was among other causing disruptions and told to leave the town hall. When Borrenpohl refused, video shows she was forcibly removed from the event by members of private security firm Lear Asset Management at the direction of Sheriff Norris.
In the fallout, Lear lost its business license to work in Coeur d’Alene. Owner Paul Trouette was found guilty of battery charges against two other attendees but acquitted for a battery charge against Borrenpohl.
Investigations occurred against Norris but the Idaho Attorney General declined to charge him.
Borrenpohl has filed a federal lawsuit against Sheriff Norris, Regan, Trouette, and Lear employees at the time Christofer Berg, Russell Dunne, Jesse Jones and others.
In the lawsuit, Borrenpohl alleges she suffered pain, scratches, bruises and emotional distress. The lawsuit says the defendants violated her Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments.
Borrenpohl is seeking a jury trial and looking for financial relief.
