SPOKANE, Wash – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene metro area, in place until midnight Thursday.
This is part of a band of storms moving through eastern and central Washington Thursday.
Similar watches are in place across the Inland Northwest and Columbia Basin.
The Moscow-Pullman area can expect storms until about 10:00 Thursday. The same timing is expected for the Coeur d’Alene area and the Idaho panhandle.
The rest of Eastern Washington up through Republic and the Canadian border could see storms between 7 and midnight.
This storm could bring winds gusting over 70 miles an hour, along with frequent lightning and hail 1.5″ in size.
