POST FALLS, Idaho – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an elderly woman, found dead in her home in Post Falls.
The sheriff’s office got a request for a welfare check in the 2900 block of East Hope Avenue around 7:15 Friday night.
The home is about a mile north of Post Falls High School.
The person who asked for the check said they had not seen the woman for several days.
Detectives say they saw “suspicious circumstances” outside the home and when they went in, they found the woman dead.
Investigators worked through the night processing the crime scene and following leads.
The sheriff’s office says they’re intentionally withholding some information to protect the integrity of the case.
