SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has requested a disaster declaration from FEMA for the Upriver Fire burning near Spokane Valley.
Gov. Ferguson said he has been briefed on this fire and expects the declaration to be approved Tuesday evening.

This would give Washington access to federal funding to help fight this fire.
“If you are in the area, please pay attention to evacuation orders, road closures, and follow instructions from emergency responders,” Gov. Ferguson said.
