SPOKANE, Wash. — A group of kids was stopped on the South Hill Saturday afternoon for riding e-motorcycles through the Southside Sports Complex.
According to Spokane Police, officers were able to track down about eight kids ranging in age from 8 to 14 years old.
SPD said the ride had been promoted on social media and some underage drivers traveled by e-motorcycle all the way from Spokane Valley for the event.
Officers took the opportunity to remind the kids and their parents about the laws surrounding e-motorcycles in Washington, as well as how dangerous they can be when not used appropriately.
Parents were called to take the children and their e-motorcycles home.
SPD wants to remind people that e-motorcycles are considered motorized vehicles in Washington. All drivers need to have a driver’s license along with a motorcycle endorsement to ride on the road.
