SPOKANE, Wash – With last season cut short by injury, expectations are high for Gonzaga senior Braden Huff.
So high, in fact, he’s been named to the Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Watch List.
Huff is one of 50 players on the list and one of only two players in the Pac-12. The other is Utah State senior Mason Falslev.
The 6’10” center from Illinois missed the final 17 games of the season with a dislocated kneecap.
Before the injury, Huff averaged 17.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
He’s a key player in a Gonzaga roster that features plenty of new faces, thanks to graduation and the transfer portal.
Gonzaga opens the season Monday afternoon in Las Vegas against Purdue.
