SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Drivers should expect some delays on State Route 27 south of Rockford for the foreseeable future.
Department of Transportation says a sinkhole developed due to a culvert failure last week about one mile south of Rockford.
Crews initially patched the hole and stabilized the surface but ultimately determined one southbound would need to close while repairs are made.
WSDOT says SR-27 is down to one lane with flaggers alternating traffic.
Temporary traffic signals will be installed Friday afternoon.
WSDOT does not have an estimation when the repairs will be finished.
