SANDPOINT, Idaho – Skiers and snowboarders are running out of time to get some turns in on Schweitzer Mountain.
The ski resort announced this week it’s moving up the closing day to April 5th.
“After losing 2 feet of snowpack in the past 2 weeks, our final day of operations comes a week earlier than expected due to deteriorating conditions,” Schweitzer posted to Facebook Monday.
It’s been a rough year for local ski resorts, with low snowfall combined with wind and rain for much of the season.
Schweitzer plans to go ahead with its Pass Holder Appreciation Day on April 4th and other spring events.
The resort will keep visitors updated on its website.
