CHELAN, Wash. — The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man suspected of assaulting a deputy during an attempted burglary in Chelan.
The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to a reported trespassing at an apartment complex on Johnson Avenue near Sanders Street around 7 p.m. Saturday night.
The 911 caller said a man she didn’t know was outside her apartment pounding on the door, trying to turn the doorknob, and yelling threats.
A deputy saw the suspect, Alejandro Morales-Gonzales, trying to get inside an apartment.
Deputies say Morales-Gonzales initially complied with commands but began to resist when the deputy attempted to detain him. During the struggle, Morales-Gonzales hit the deputy in the face. CCSO says the deputy had to wrestle Morales-Gonzales to the ground.
Deputies were eventually able to put Morales-Gonzales in restraints, and he was taken to an area hospital. The deputy declined treatment.
Law enforcement say Morales-Gonzales had previously been removed from an apartment at the complex due to a domestic dispute and was not allowed to be there.
Morales-Gonzales was arrested for attempted burglary, assault, and resisting arrest.
