Temperatures keep climbing today and peak early this weekend before a pattern change on Memorial Day.
Plan Your Friday
Expect dry weather and warming temperatures with afternoon highs reaching the upper 70s and low 80s around the region. Winds will get a little gusty up to 30 mph in the Columbia Basin this afternoon. Aside from a couple of isolated showers or storms near the Canadian border, today will remain dry. Tonight will be mild with lows in the 40s and 50s.
What We’re Tracking
It’ll feel like summer to start the weekend with highs around 80 on Saturday. Winds will turn gusty again in the afternoon across Eastern Washington, which will be a theme through the entire weekend. These winds combined with dry weather will elevate fire danger on Saturday and Sunday. Be aware of local campfire restrictions if you are spending the weekend outside. By Monday night, a new system arrives with gusts up to 40 mph and a chance for rain. Temperatures drop in the low 70s Monday and 60s on Tuesday as rain chances continue into the shortened workweek.
