Smoky weather will kick off Wednesday around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. As the day goes on, haze will clear and lift and we’ll return to less-smelly and smoky air for the afternoon and evening. Highs will be seasonable today in the mid-to-upper 80s.
What We’re Tracking
Temperatures will start to heat up to end the week, climbing into the 90s by Friday. The most significant weather in our forecast arrives Saturday as a strong cold front brings strong winds. It will likely gust to at least 30 mph in Spokane, with some potential for winds up to 40 or 45 mph. With humidity dropping as low as 15 percent, these conditions will create widespread critical fire weather risks across the Inland Northwest.
Temperatures will take a significant drop behind the front on Sunday, bringing us cooler than average weather with highs only in the 70s.
