Level 3 (GO NOW!) evacuations are in place for a fire on East Mount Spokane Park Drive in Spokane County.
According to Spokane Fire District 4, people living on East Mount Spokane Park Drive to the south, Day Mount Spokane to the north, Bruce Road to the west, and Madison to the east need to leave now.
Firefighters are currently responding to a wildfire in the area.
For some residents, the decision to evacuate came down to being prepared for the unknown. Joseph Nixon said his family faced uncertainty about whether to leave, but he was ready to act.
“My parents didn’t know if they should leave or not, but I’m the type to go so I was ready go and grab my stuff and leave. Just because you never know, you never know what’s going to happen,” Nixon said.
