DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash –A head-on crash killed five people in Douglas County Sunday night.
According to Washington State Patrol, the crash happened at 9:40 p.m. on State Route 2, northeast of Wenatchee.
A Nissan Maxima was traveling westbound carrying four men. It crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Sonic carrying a 77-year-old woman from Omak.
All five people in the cars died at the scene.
Their identities are not being released until family is notified.
Washington State Patrol says drugs and/or alcohol were involved in the crash.
The crash closed State Route 2 for several hours Sunday night and into Monday morning.
The road is now back open.
