SPOKANE — Chick-fil-A customers in southern parts of Spokane no longer have to travel as far for their chicken sandwiches. The chain’s second local restaurant officially opened its doors at the Ruby and Sinto intersection.
“Today, we are doing a Moove-In[sic] party. So if you dress like a cow, whether it is a full cow suit, cow spots, whatever that is, you get a free entree all the way until 11 o’clock tonight when we close,” said Lizzie Minkner, Owner and Operator of the new business.
The new restaurant location emerged after months of construction and fills a gap for customers traveling from Spokane Valley, Downtown, and Southern Spokane who previously had to rely on the chain’s north Spokane location.
The business’s leadership said it carefully planned the restaurant’s traffic flow to minimize disruption to the surrounding area. The entrance is located at Sinto while the exit routes to Mission, a deliberate decision to avoid adding pressure to the already busy Ruby Street corridor.
The opening brings approximately 120 new jobs to Spokane. Minkner noted that her team is fully staffed for the launch, though the restaurant remains open to qualified candidates.
First customers who visited on opening day expressed enthusiasm about supporting friends and family members who now work at the location. “It is so exciting to be here,” said Mikayla Muse, whose brother works at the new Chick-fil-A. “We were at the dedication dinner last night, and everyone worked so hard to get this place ready.”
To manage the anticipated surge in traffic during the opening weekend, Chick-fil-A has off-duty officers at the location over the next few days.
Chick-fil-A is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
